The vhf/uhf portion of the base is up and running. The 857 and its power supply are performing admirably. The 857 is a bit intimidating. I have been using an old mobile in the car, and an ht for a base. Big difference!! A friend is making a control extention for my screwdriver hf antenna. Once that is done all I will need to do is some groundplane work in the back yard. Big news!! My wife Sharon, KE7WGY passed her General Saturday!! Looks like I will be doing some emergency fill in work as net control for the 2100 Net, and will be a TA for a Technician class at MCC taught by Bob Burlson from the Science Center. Keeping busy I guess!
