ARRL 10 Meter Contest Summary – Yuk

Sad to say, after all the preparation and listening to static, I only worked two stations all weekend, one in Texas and one in Puerto Rico. I did hear two locals here in Georgia but they were doing search and pounce and I couldn’t get them. A fellow I know about 200 miles from here worked at least 146 stations so I theoretically should have heard and worked more stations. What it comes down to is a difference in antennas. The MFJ-1622 mounted on a 7 foot step ladder just can not match a dipole at 30 feet, must less any type of directional beam. I’m curious how others did in the contest given propagation.
