Current Status: Heading to the monthly Am Tech Day at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. http://www.fars.k6ya.org/amtechday (...more)
Location: Los Gatos, California
Greetings from the town of Los Gatos California, located between San Francisco and Carmel in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains. We have 300 days of sunshine each year with an average temperature of 72 (F). The town of “the cats” is the most ironically named place in California considering that 70% of the households here have at least one dog.
Radio interests are meeting people, HF, DX, QRP, all things digital (but NEVER at the expense of analog!), Internet linking, satellite, microwave, EME (Earth-Moon-Earth moon bounce), meteor scatter, all things mobile, emergency communications, simple crystal sets, shortwave listening, antique and vintage radios (a big fan of the early Zenith Trans Oceanic series), the “Golden Age” of radio programming, and the history and impact of radio on society and culture.
